In the third set, Nam, ranked 884th, successful beat his opponent, who is ranked 117 spots higher than him, 2-1 after nearly 3 hours of competition.
Earlier, Nam defeated, Japan’s Yuichi Ito, ranked World No 848, 6-2, 7-6 for a berth in the main round.
The winner of the tournament will receive prize money of US$10,000. The final is set for March 27.
