At a press conference on April 6, Le Trong Minh, editor in chief of the Vietnam Investment Review, one of the organizers, said since its inception, the annual tournament has provided more than 12,000 grants and scholarships to needy youth.
“It has also provided badly needed financial assistance to some 40 provinces and cities nationwide to upgrade classrooms and improve education for the nation’s young,” said Mr Minh.
The tournament organizers are highly grateful for the sponsorship and financial backing of BRG-SeAbank, Samsung Electronics, Coca Cola Vietnam, Vingroup and Kinder World Group, said Mr Minh.
“Without their assistance the tournament would not have been possible.”
He said Swing for the Kids 2016, held by Vietnam Investment Review in collaboration with BRG Group and SeaBank, has so far attracted 144 golfers, and expects a total of 200 golfers to sign up for the one-day tournament.
