Associate Professor, Doctor Nguyen The Ky was born in 1960 in Nghe An province. 

He had been Director of Nghe An TV and Radio station, Editor-in-chief of Nghe An newspaper, Deputy Head of the Nghe An provincial Department of Communications and Education, Party Secretary of Nam Dan district, Nghe An province, Director of the Press and Publication department of the PCC’s Commission for Communications and Education, and Deputy Head of the PCC’s Commission for Communications and Education.


At the 12th National Party Congress in January, he was elected a member of the 12th Party Central Committee.

On February 29, 2016, the Prime Minister signed the decision confirming the retirement of VOV President Nguyen Dang Tien on March 1, 2016.
