The closing ceremony took place at Ngo Mon (Southern Gate) Square.

With the theme “Cultural heritage with integration and development,” the festival aims to honour the 710th anniversary of the region, Thua Thien-Hue (formerly known as Thuan Hoa, and then Phu Xuan).

Domestic and foreign art troupes gave twelve performances at the closing ceremony.

In his closing speech, Vice Chairman of Thua Thien-Hue provincial People’s Committee Nguyen Dung said the event helped boost cultural exchanges among countries across the world.

The festival, which took place from April 29 to May 4, drew approximately 1 million visitors.
