The event’s Hanoi launch saw an overwhelming participation of 3,000 hobbyists, amateurs and professional photographers along with thousands of brilliant photographic renditions.

The competition requires entrants to race against time and capture their best photos of different themes as announced by Cannon during the event. The winners are then announced instantaneously by Canon.

This competition is a great platform to develop skills and express art, so kudos to Canon for putting in the effort in making this challenge a yearly affair, said one contestant. The competition is overwhelming with so many submissions.

It’s an experience that really opened my eyes to the many different ways of taking and interpreting a picture, said another.

After Hanoi, the contest will continue at Quan Khu 7 Stadium in Ho Chi Minh City on October 15 and the Tien Son Sport Centre in Danang on October 22.

The overall winner will receive an all-expense paid 8-day trip to Japan to participate in a photo clinic. Others will walk away with a list of big-ticket products such as a Canon EOS 5D Mark III or PIXMA PRO 100 photo printer.

Still others will receive free products from partner sponsors SanDisk, Shiro, Fujitso, Adobe, Digital Camera Magazine and Japan Endless Discovery.
