The agreement was reached during the ongoing visit to Thailand by Commander-in-Chief of the Myanmar Defence Services Senior General Min Aung Hlaing.The two sides also discussed about a joint training exercise, Supreme Commander of the Thai Defence Forces Sommai Kaotira told the press after talks on May 25.Senior General Hlaing is on a three-day visit to Thailand at the invitation of Supreme Commander Kaotira, following a two-day trip by Thai Foreign Minister Don Pramudwinai to Nay Pyi Taw as a special envoy of Prime Minister Prayut Chan-o-cha to strengthen bilateral ties and foster cooperation with Myanmar.Thailand is among key trade partners of Myanmar with the two-day trade reaching approximately US$4.5 billion in the 2015-2016 period.Thailand is also the third largest investor in Myanmar, after China and Singapore. The country poured about US$10.5 billion into Myanmar as of March 2016, representing 16.48% of the total foreign investment in Myanmar.
