PM Lee Hsien Loong is on a three day visit to Myanmar from June 7 at the invitation of Myanmar’s President U Htin Kyaw. He is the first Asian leader to visit Myanmar since the nation’s new government took office on April 1. The visit also marks the 50th anniversary of diplomatic ties of Singapore and Myanmar.

Singaporean Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong has proposed that Myanmar’s State Counsellor and Minister of Foreign Affairs Aung San Suu Kyi serve as the spokesperson of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) on international affairs.
