In the first five months of this year 106,000 Vietnamese visited Japan, according to figures released at a seminar to introduce the country by the Japan Travel Agency (JTA) held in the central city of Danang on July 28.

Nhan Phuong, JTA’s representative in Vietnam, said Japan is one of the most attractive destinations for Vietnamese travellers while Vietnam is considered a potential market by the Japanese tourism industry.

The easing of visa conditions for Vietnamese, the increase in the frequency of flights to Japan from Hanoi, Danang and Ho Chi Minh City and the depreciation of the yen are behind the increase for Vietnamese to travel increasingly to Japan, he said.
