Trade Counselor Hoang Anh Dung said exports by foreign and domestic sector businesses operating in Vietnam to Canada registered US$586.6 million while imports tallied in at US$131.1 million, resulting in a trade surplus of US$455.5 million. The trade surplus was much smaller than that for the same 2-month period last year due to a sharp increase in coal imports from Canada, which more than doubled to US$38 million, accounting for almost 30% of the total imports of Vietnam.
