The two parties discussed opportunities that could be developed from existing potentials as well as the status of existing agreements between companies in the construction industries of the respective countries.

According to a VNA correspondent in Havana, Deputy Minister Quang specifically met with Cuban Minister of Construction Rene Mesa Villafana to discuss in-depth steps being taken to give effect to prior construction agreements.

The correspondent also said they discussed a large number of new construction projects on the horizon, with the aim of creating the conditions that allow for deepening of trade and investment.
  

On this occasion, the two sides witnessed the signing ceremony of an agreement to establish a joint venture between Viglacera Corporation and GEICON Corporation in Cuba regarding importing and exporting of building materials.

The Cuban delegation said they were very appreciative of being offered first-hand significant investment opportunities in Vietnam.

During the visit, Deputy Minister Le Quang Hung attended the opening ceremony of the International Construction Fair (FECONS 2016) and the Special Economic Development Zone of Mariel as well as some cultural destinations in Cuba.
