Pakistan is in high and stable demand for pepper and totally depends on imports as pepper cannot be grown in that land. Last year Pakistan imported 11,000 tons of pepper worth nearly US$44 million and 80% of the imported volume came from Vietnam.Pakistan is the seventh biggest importer of Vietnam pepper and accounted for 6% of the country’s pepper exports. Rivals of Vietnam pepper on the market are Brazil with 5% of market shares and Indonesia (2.7%).
