Ambassador to New Zealand Nguyen Viet Dung recently debuted a liaison committee comprised of five seasoned business professionals wanting to help build, grow and expand the Vietnam economic footprint in New Zealand.

The average Vietnamese entrepreneur is extremely innovative, smart, driven and tireless. However, most of them are strong on the technological side but lack the requisite cultural understanding, said Ambassador Dung.

Vietnamese companies must have a better grasp of New Zealand business customs and refine their sales pitches if they are to broaden trade and investment, Mr Dung added, and this is where the committee aims to provide experienced support.

The overarching goal of the committee it to help match domestic companies with New Zealand investors and entrepreneurs and along the way eliminate barriers involving communication, culture and marketing.

The revelation came during a four-day visit of Ministry of Industry and Trade Deputy Minister Nguyen Cam Tu on June 22-25 to New Zealand at a meeting with 33 representatives of the OVs business community.

Deputy Minister Tu said those in attendance were fortunate as it’s rare to find a team of business professionals willing to combine their efforts to help build, grow, fund and expand Vietnamese companies all under one umbrella.
