On display in hundreds of pavilions spanning an area of some 4,000 square metres were the latest equipment, machinery, products, supplies and technologies used in the mining industry and related supporting activities.

Speaking at the opening, Tran Viet Dung, deputy director of the Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry (VCCI) ) Exhibition Service Company  said the event provides a good chance for local mining companies to get updated on the latest trends in the industry.

“The mining industry plays an important role and significantly contributed to the economy,” said Mr Dung. “Last year, it produced around 40,000 metric tons of coal, 109,000 tons of iron ore and hundreds of tons of other ore like bronze and tin.”

The exhibition running through March 31, also includes two conferences on mining and machinery.
