Major export items included coffee with 35,333 tons valued at US$76.8 million (down 13% in volume but up 12.8% in value), telephones and components with US$58.7 million (up 5%), rice with 27,221 tons valued at US$10.6 million (up 3.8 times in volume and 5 times in value).Algeria is Vietnam’s second largest importer in Africa.However, exports to the African market in July just reached US$19 million, half the value in June as the Algerian government has implemented measures to reduce the trade deficit, such as temporarily stop importing 24 kinds of products and impose technical barriers on seafood products and quotas on many others.
