
Under the guidance of head coach Mai Duc Chung, the squad of 28 players will train at the Vietnam Youth Football Training Center.
The training camp will see the return of several players, including Pham Thi Tuoi and Nguyen Thi Lieu, who previously suffered injuries.
Other young faces, including Tran Thi Hai Linh, Dao Thi Kieu Oanh, and Nguyen Thi My Anh, have also been called up for the training camp.
Vietnam have been drawn in Group C of the 2022 Asian Cup, alongside Japan, the Republic of Korea, and Myanmar.
The tournament is scheduled to take place from January 20, 2022, to February 6, 2022, in India. Most notably, the top five teams at the tournament will subsequently qualify for the 2023 World Cup.
With Australia hosting the 2023 World Cup, in the event that they are in the top five of the 2022 Asian Cup, the sixth-best team will win a place at the World Cup.
Therefore, if Vietnam want a World Cup spot they must advance to the semifinals of the tournament.
