After a two-day Christmas break, the team gets back to training hard in their preparations for the friendly match against Palestine U23s on January 4 and for the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) U23 Championship finals.
Captain Luong Xuan Truong turned in a performance of the highest quality in the friendly match against the Republic of Korea’s Ulsan Hyundai FC on December 22.
Vietnam U23s are put through their paces during an intense 2 hour physical training session.
The Korean coach said that physical strength is a prerequisite for Vietnam’s U23s at the AFC U23 Championship.
The team do resistance training with a rubber rope,
and free-weights.



As scheduled, Vietnam’s U23s will jet off to Kunshan, China to face off against Palestine U23s in a friendly match on January 4.
They will then play the Republic of Korea’s U23s (January 11), Australia U23s (January 14), and Syria U23s (January 17) in the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) U23 Championship.
