AFC regulations state that the host country must pay for the full cost of the organisation, including expenses for accommodation, meals, training, and travel.

During the second qualifying round, the Vietnamese team are scheduled to face Indonesia, Malaysia, and the UAE on June 7, June 11, and June 15, respectively.

Playing the group’s remaining three matches in the same venue will prove to be an advantage for the national team led by head coach Park Hang-seo as it will ultimately help to reduce the travel time. The climate in the UAE also favours Vietnamese footballers.

At present, Vietnam are leading Group G with 11 points, followed by Malaysia with nine points, Thailand with eight points, the UAE with six points, and Indonesia who are bottom with zero points.

The Vietnamese men’s national football team are aiming to progress out of the group and make it to the Asian region’s third qualifying round for the 2022 FIFA World Cup.

The other hosts of the remaining games in the second round in the Asian region are China, Kuwait, Bahrain, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Japan, and the Republic of Korea in Group A, Group B, Group C, Group D, Group E, Group F, and Group H, respectively.
