An early tussel for possession.
Minh Tri opened the scoring in the 13th minute of the first half. After some slick passing, China’s defence was carved open leaving Minh Tri to calmly finish.

China equalised from the penalty spot and then scored a second goal soon after. Co Tri Kiet dispatched a shot from outside the area to bring Vietnam level at 2-2 in the 17th minute.

China dominated proceedings in the second half with Vietnam struggling to get a foothold in the game. In a rare spell of possession for the Vietnamese, Quoc Hung scored Vietnam’s third goal in the 24th minute to put them 3-2 ahead.

Vietnam did not lead for long however, Xu Yang equalised three minutes later with a well worked shot that snuck through the Vietnamese goalkeeper’s legs.

Vietnam were gifted a fourth goal after a goalkeeping blunder allowed Quoc Nam to wrap up the victory in the 31st minute. His goal proved decisive and the match ended 4-3 Vietnam.

Next up for the Vietnamese futsal team is a match against the Netherlands at 1:30pm on October 22. After this they will fly to Ho Chi Minh City to prepare for the Southeast Asia Futsal Tournament in Vietnam.
