This statement was made by head coach Park Hang-seo ahead of Vietnam’s clash against Indonesia in the United Arab Emirates (UAE).

Previously, Vietnam defeated Indonesia 3-1 away from home in October 2019, during qualification for the 2022 FIFA World Cup, although since then Indonesia’s line-up has greatly changed with a number of new key players added to the team.

Coached by Shin Tae-yong, Indonesian footballers are now young, dynamic, and have greater determination, Park noted.

Ahead of the fixture, the Vietnamese team remain focused on winning against Indonesia, whilst the entire team must contribute if Vietnam are to have any hope of achieving their goal, the Korean coach confirmed.

Meanwhile, captain Que Ngoc Hai said that although the match against Indonesia will prove to be very difficult, all the players have as much determination as ever.

Recording a victory over Indonesia is the main target of the team, he added.

Vietnam are currently leading Group G with 11 points, followed by the hosts UAE in second position with nine points.

Thailand, Malaysia, and Indonesia are in third, fourth, and fifth places in Group G.

The national squad are scheduled to take on Indonesia on June 7, Malaysia on June 11, and the UAE on June 15.
