The southern province of Can Tho-born Vien finished seventh in the 800m freestyle with a time of 8:44.56, while in the 200m medley, Vien ranked sixth with a time of 2:16.36.Earlier, the 19-year-old swimmer won a silver in the women’s 400 medley with a time of 4:39.64.At the 28th Southeast Asian Games in Singapore last June, Vien broke eight records and qualified to compete in four categories at the Brazil Olympics this summer.
Vien flops at US swimming event
Vietnamese top swimmer Nguyen Thi Anh Vien performed poorly in the women’s 800m freestyle and 200m medley at the Arena Pro Swim Series in Orlando, Floria in the US on March 6.
