During a press conference held on May 5, the Korean coach shared that he will try his utmost to achieve the best result for the Vietnamese U23 side as this will be his last tournament with the team.

“"First of all, I want to say that Vietnam is the defending champion of the tournament, so, Vietnamese fans set high expectations for us,” said coach Park.

“The players are under a little bit of pressure, however, they will try their utmost to defend their title and bring joy to local fans,” he added.

The Korean coach recalled that two years ago Vietnam had beaten Indonesia in the final match to win the gold medal. However, he noted that this year the Indonesian team had changed and have recorded a number of notable achievements.

“Me and Shin Tae-yong, the head coach of Indonesian team, will make every effort to achieve our goals of winning the tournament,” Park stressed.

When asked about the health status of Tien Linh, one of the team’s strikers, Park Hang-seo said that the player was not suffering from a serious injury.

The coach added that he did not want to share more information about his key player in the press conference where a lot of Indonesian reporters were present.
