Nam and Khanh defeated Francis Casey Alcantara of the Philippines and Markus Eriksoon of Sweden 6-4, 6-7, 12-10 in the final which lasted one hour and 40 minutes.

However, Tay Ninh-born Nam lost his men’s singles title after losing to No 1 seed Roman Safiullin of Russia in the final.

Nam, world No 481, was defeated by Safiullin, world No 297, 6-7, 4-6 after one hour and 31 minutes.

With the support of fans at home, Nam caused many difficulties for the visitor in the minutes of the first set to lead 5-2. However, the Russian rival bounced back strongly to beat Nam 6-7. In the next set, Nam lost confidence and was defeated 4-6.
