In the second round match Nam triumphed over Bogdan Bobrov of Russia 4-6, 6-4, 6-2 after three sets. Last week the Russian player lost to another Vietnamese rival Hoang Nam 1-6, 4-6 in the India F2 Futures.
In the quarter-finals of the India F3 Futures, Hoang Nam will play Karunuday Singh of India who is currently ranked 644th in the world.
Earlier, in the doubles event, Nam and his Spanish partner Carlos Boluda-Purkiss won a place in the quarter-finals after trouncing Tyler Hochwalt of the US and Sami Reinwein of Germany 6-3, 6-2.
They will face Sidharth Rawat and Manish Sureshkumar of India in their next match.
