Going into the final match of the AFC Cup 2019 group stage, Hanoi FC were targeting three points to ensure they progressed to the knock-out stage.
The match was held at the Hang Day stadium in Hanoi.
Oseni of Hanoi FC opened the scoring on 10 minutes in the first half.
 
After scoring early Hanoi FC were able to play with confidence and dominated the game.
Thanh Chung doubled the lead to make it 2-0 in the 31st minute.
Yasir Hanapi of Tampines Rovers received his second yellow card during injury time in the first half.
The extra man advantage and comfortable lead gave Tampines Rovers a mountain to climb in the second half.
With their opponents down to ten men, Hanoi FC enjoyed lots of the ball and tried to press their advantage in the second half.
However the Vietnamese champions weren’t able to add to the score.
With victory ensured, the home team saw out the 2-0 score line.
After six games, Hanoi FC finished the group with 13 points, ensuring they progress to the knock-out stages of the AFC Cup 2019.
