In their previous encounter two weeks ago, Hanoi FC were defeated 1-0 by the champions of Myanmar. Coming into the match the Vietnamese club were determined to win and take home all three points.
In the third minute of the first half, Omar opened the scoring after receiving a pass from Quang Hai.
Hanoi FC’s star forward Oseni missed a good chance to score in the 13th minute. Sekou Sylla (No. 15) of Yangon United equalised from close range before Miller (No. 6) scored again to give the hosts a 2-1 lead in the 26th minute.
Oseni went onto score twice in the remainder of the first half to put Hanoi FC ahead at the break.
The first half finished with Hanoi FC holding a 3-2 lead.
The visitors were able to dominate the second half and put together a number of dangerous attacks. Omar scored the fourth goal of the game for Hanoi FC in the 81st minute after another Quang Hai assist.
Omar scored his third goal of the match in the 83rd minute.
After defeating Yangon United 5-2, Hanoi FC now top Group F with 7 points. Their next fixture will be against Naga World FC of Cambodia.
Hanoi FC’s fixture against Naga World FC will take place May 1 before playing Tampines Rovers FC of Singapore at the Hang Day stadium in Hanoi on May 15.
