Competitors, dignitaries, sponsors and spectators were entertained in the morning with musical and dance performances at the opening ceremony and after that competitors were briefed by the race officials, lunch was served and racing got underway in the afternoon.

The afternoon racing consisted of great action races with strong winds and big swells, conditions that ensured a fun action packed day for the spectators gathered to cheer the racers on.

“Ham Tien and Mui Ne are coastal areas, which have ideal weather and environment conditions for windsurfing addicts, said Pascal Lefebre, head of the event’s organizing board.

Tien said all the money raised from this year’s tournament will go towards support for orphans in the local community.
