The final round of the AFC U23 Championship 2018 will take place in January 2018. This will be the last AFC U23 Championship for 22-year-old football players such as Cong Phuong and Xuan Truong. |
After the result of the draw, the U23 Vietnam squad is in Group D with U23 Republic of Korea, Australia, and Syria. |

2. Midfielder, Nguyen Quang Hai, 20, is from Hanoi FC. |
The young football player has made good progress in recent tournaments. |
3. Midfielder, Luong Xuan Truong, 20, is from Gangwon FC. |
Truong’s ability in counterattacking situations may be key for a surprise performance by the U23 Vietnam squad. |
4. Midfielder, Bui Tien Dung, 22, is from Viettel FC. |
5. Midfielder, Vu Van Thanh, 21, is from HAGL FC. |
He is physically strong. Thanh is a first choice midfielder in the U23 Vietnam squad. |
