Years of dedication and devotion to her sport will reach a peak at the games where she will swim in four events and hopefully end with a place on the podium and medals around her neck.

On an average training day for the Olympic hopeful she and Coach Dang Anh Tuan wake up early and begin a hard training day.

All of the training takes place under tight security at the Olympic Village.

She chats with other athletes while waiting to catch a bus to the cafeteria.

The first order of the day is to refuel and get some breakfast, she usually starts with eggs, cereal and juice.

There are plenty of choices, so it’s sometimes difficult to decide.

Vienna cakes is a favourite of hers, that she eats at almost every meal. The food in the cafeteria is guaranteed Olympic food safety without any banned substances.

Vien chooses to eat healthy – juice, two hard-boiled eggs, Vienna cakes, cereal, a banana and watermelon wedges.

She meets with Coach to talk about tactics, using video analysis to study her performances and get other feedback.

Vien gas a friendly chat with a Korean coach.

She says the national flag serves as her inspiration to succeed.

She begins by training by performing traditional warm up exercises.

Coach Tuan help her train with the exercise ball.

He serves as Anh Vien’s teacher quietly in the background giving instructions and guidance for the training session.

Finally, the training day is over and time for dinner then bed before it all starts again the following day.
