Speaking at the handover ceremony, Nguyen Vinh Phuc from Southern Power said the District has been detrimentally affected by saltwater intrusion and drought making it difficult for local people to access clean, potable water for cooking, drinking, cleaning and bathing.

These water tanks will help local people to store clean water for these purposes.

Our interventions are changing people’s lives in real time, he noted, adding they also contribute to building our resilience as a nation in the face of future saltwater intrusion and drought that are fast becoming a fact of life as a result of climate change.
