Vinh University students join voluntary summer campaign in Laos in 2013
It is a mind-opening and life changing experience that will continue to impact 30 young volunteers long after they returned home from the province of Xiengkhuang in Laos to Vietnam, said University officials.

For almost a month (July 6-30) the students will teach the Vietnamese language and computing to prospective students in Laos who are considering continuing their post-secondary education at colleges and universities in Vietnam.

All told, said the officials, more than 600 students have signed up to volunteer in Laos this summer and they have divided the volunteers into roughly 30 groups.

The groups will get involved in a wide array of activities throughout Laos this summer, the officials added, everything from projects involving environment protection to agriculture to helping disadvantaged youth.
