On March 15, the Hungary delegation held preliminary talks with a contingent from the Vietnam Ministry of Justice headed by Minister Ha Hung Cuong, discussing the development of cross-border relations.

At the meeting, Minister Cuong welcomed the Hungary delegation saying the visit would help the two sides build bridges between their different legal systems and facilitate legal certainty, particularly in civil matters.

Cuong said the main tools for facilitating access to cross-border justice are the principle of mutual recognition, based on mutual trust between the two nations, and direct judicial cooperation between national courts.

The two ministers signed cooperation agreements for 2016-2017, focusing on exchanging experience and measures to foster mutual legal assistance.

During the visit, Minister Laszlo and Prosecutor General of the Supreme People's Procuracy Nguyen Hoa Binh plan to sign a mutual legal assistance agreement between the two countries.

Minister Laszlo will also talk with teachers and students of Hanoi Law University about the new Constitution of Hungary and its experience in giving it effect.
