Police and fire rescuers responded to reports of a vehicle collision on National Highway 1A shortly after 6:30am and arrived to find the passenger bus engulfed in a ball of fire.

Police said rescue crews worked quickly to pull survivors out through bus windows.

Details of precisely what happened are still sketchy.

However, eyewitness report the bus swerved to avoid striking a pedestrian on a bicycle and ran head on into an oncoming semi- trailer truck.

Police officials confirmed that the bus and truck are a total loss.

Police and hospital officials are not releasing any info at this time, but it is believed there are thankfully no life-threatening injuries.
