According to an initial report on September 15 from the Central Steering Committee on Natural Disaster Prevention and Control (CSCNDPC), five people have been reported dead (two in Thanh Hoa, one in Nghe An and two in Quang Binh), 10 went on missing (five in Thanh Hoa, three in Nghe An, and two in Quang Nam) and 26 others injured.
Hundreds of houses and trees have been collapsed while more than 600 roofs of houses have been blown away. Thousands of cattle and poultry have been killed along with 13 fishing vessels, 19 small bridges and many sections of roads have been damaged. The CSCNDPC has directed localities to closely monitor the situation and stay prepared to evacuate local people out of dangerous areas, inspect lakes and dams and mobilize forces and equipment for emergencies.
