The same day, the Government Office also held a fund-raising ceremony joined by Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc to help local people in the flood-hit areas.
National Assembly Chairwoman Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan and other legislators donated money to help affected locals.
Earlier on Friday morning, Party Central Committee's Mass Mobilization Commission Chief Truong Thi Mai, called on the Commission’s staff to raise funds for the damaged areas.
Over the past few days, deluges killed 54 people, left 37 missing and 31 injured on October 12, according to the Central Steering Committee for Natural Disaster Prevention and Control.
The Vietnam Red Cross Society has also launched a “texting” campaign "For flood victims) calling for nationwide donation in support of flood victims.
