The remains were unearthed during the 120th joint field activities between Vietnam and the US from July to September, and were examined by experts of both sides in Danang.
The remains will be sent to Hawaii for further examination. Attending the ceremony were representatives from the Board of Directors of Vietnam’s Office for Seeking Missing Persons (VNOSMP), the US Consulate General in Ho Chi Minh City, the US Defence Attache Office in Hanoi, the US Defence Department’s POW/MIA Accounting Agency and the US MIA Office in Hanoi.
