Director of the provincial Department of Information and Communication Vu Trong Que said the exhibits are historical and legal evidence of Vietnam’s sovereignty over the archipelagos.

On display are also objects and photos featuring Vietnams’ exercise of sovereignty on Hoang Sa and Truong Sa as well as Nam Dinh people’s efforts to protect the country’s seas and islands.

Que highlighted the significance of the event, saying that it helps raise the awareness of the need to safeguard the national sovereignty over the archipelagos among local authorities and residents, particularly those in coastal areas.

Similar events are scheduled to be held in other localities across the province, he added.

The exhibition will run until September 4.
