Over the week, the whole country was focused on the tragic events unfolding in the northern localities, especially Lai Chau, Son La, Dien Bien, Lao Cai, Yen Bai, Ha Giang and Tuyen Quang, which have been hardest hit by the severe flooding.
Residents in Lai Chau and Ha Giang have witnessed the historic flooding, deemed the worst in 50 years. 
Peaceful villages have been utterly devastated and many residents have been displaced by flooding and landslides.
Upon her return from a business trip, My Linh and her team immediately travelled to Ha Giang to bring aid to the afflicted.

Landslides and flooding have left many roads impassable.
Although Linh has kept a close watch on the flash floods in recent days, she is still astonished at the widespread devastation as houses have been completely destroyed in Quyet Tien and Lung Tam communes.
My Linh says when she implemented the project to bring power to hamlets in the area, she also witnessed a devastating scene as flash floods swept away a village at the foot of a mountain.
Linh says drastic measures should be taken to limit such risks and heavy losses.
 
 
During the charity trip, Tien Phong (Vanguard) newspaper and Golden Lotus Company donated VND100 million, while the Kind Heart Foundation of Vingroup provided VND200 million in aid and Amy Store made a donation of VND5 million.
Miss Vietnam 2016 My Linh and first runner-up Thanh Tu also present practical gifts to the households hardest hit by the recent disasters.
