Officials made the discovery of 51 black bags that contained the pangolin scales.
The scales were found hidden beneath several bags of raw cashew nuts.
Each bag containing the scales weighed in at over 30 kg.
The pangolin scales had been divided into two parts, small scales and large scales.
 
The bust by custom officials marks the biggest smuggling case of pangolin scales ever recorded in CMIT.
 
One of the containers had nearly 200 bags of raw cashew nuts inside.
According to the custom forces present, the smuggled goods had been imported from Nigeria.
A further investigation is to be conducted in order to reveal the operation that was attempting to smuggled the illegal goods.
