The exam is being held at Hanoi Vocational College for Electro-Mechanics and two other colleges in Ho Chi Minh City and Vinh city of central Nghe An province until April 12.

The exam serves as a benchmark to evaluate vocational skills and competence of Vietnamese workforce. It also helps the country to develop high-quality technical human resources.

KOICA has provided US$1.5 million for a project to establish a vocational skill rating and certification system in Vietnam in the 2012-2013 period.

The system is expected to help Vietnam manage human resources effectively and improve capacity for technical workforce, thus boosting the country’s socio-economic development as well as increasing its position in the international arena.
