This planet needs engineers to create and drive new industries that will help save our environment, said Jim Rekoske, vice president of Honeywell UOP, formerly known as Honeywell Universal Oil Products, at the awards ceremony.
Alternative fuels and clean energy sources are born in places like chemical engineering laboratories, which makes the need for chemical engineering students all the more urgent.
Engineers are critical to our planet’s future, and the purpose of this scholarship is to help raise awareness of this important fact. You can’t get ‘green’ without engineers, is the Honeywell UOP motto.
At the ceremony, five students in total from Petrovietnam University, Hanoi University of Science, and the Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology were awarded US$500 scholarships. One of the five will also be selected to receive advanced training at Honeywell UOP headquarters near Chicago, the US, following graduation.
