On display are 150 documents, photos and other items along with 100 maps collected by Vietnamese and foreign experts evidencing that Vietnam has exercised sovereignty over the two archipelagos dating back to feudal times if not earlier.
Among the vast amount of evidentiary materials in the exhibit are original copies of Nguyen-dynasty official documents that directly establish Vietnam’s sovereignty over the Hoang Sa and Truong Sa archipelagos.
The exhibition unequivocally demonstrates that from ancient times forward, Vietnam has always exercised sovereignty over the islands, said local fisherman Vo Hong Thanh in Gio Linh District, Quang Tri Province.
