The array of gifts were presented via the State Committee for Overseas Vietnamese Affairs and the Vietnam Fatherland Front Central Committee.
The organisers have awarded over 425 gifts worth more than VND211 million, including rice and plenty of nutritious foods and drinks to international students from Cambodia, Laos, Mongolia, Mozambique, Sri Lanka, and Ukraine, who are studying at 11 universities across Hanoi and Hung Yen.
The foundation’s representative Steve Bui revealed that these gifts will serve as a great source of valuable encouragement and support for international students who will gain greater insights into the warm sentiments of Vietnamese people during this challenging period.
Nam Sangwoo, managing director of Sales and Marketing, LG Electronics Vietnam, a member of the foundation, said in addition to business development, his firm always cares about charity activities in Vietnam to help people in need, including international students.
LG Group is willing to work alongside the Steve Bui & Friends Foundation to spread the loving connection to the community, said the business executive.
Lao Deputy Ambassador to Vietnam Chanthaphone Khammanichanh emphasised that these gifts greatly contribute to helping poor students overcome pandemic challenges and clearly demonstrate Vietnamese people’s solidarity and friendship for foreign students.
During the fourth wave of the COVID-19 pandemic, through the State Committee for Overseas Vietnamese Affairs, Steve Bui & Friends Foundation donated 980 thermal spring water spray bottles and 9,000 N95 face masks worth approximately VND290 million to Bac Giang and Bac Ninh, which were two former coronavirus hotspots in Vietnam.
The foundation also presented 5,040 bottles of alkaline water and 1,000 bottles of thermal spring water spray together VND80 million to the national vaccine fund. It recently provided 12,000 rapid test kits worth nearly VND2 billion to various units in Ho Chi Minh City, the country’s largest coronavirus hotspot at present.
