Sixty-five American soldiers and medical professionals, doctors, engineers from Singapore, Thailand, Cambodia and Vietnam have begun to participate in charity activities in Quang Ngai under the Pacific Angel (PACANGEL) program which will last until the end of March.

They repair and build two schools in Binh Thanh Dong and Nam Tinh Phong commune and two health stations in Mo Duc, and give health checkups for the people.

Classrooms in the Binh Thanh Dong Elementary School have been re-painted by American, Thai, Cambodian and Singaporean soldiers.

This year's programme gave humanitarian assistance of US$1.4 million to Quang Ngai. The Command of the US - Pacific Air Force also granted US$690,000 to build a disaster prevention center in Quang Ngai.

This event is in a series of activities in the field of security - defense between Vietnam and the United States, to celebrate the 20th anniversary of normalization of relations between the two countries (1995-2015).
