This comes after the patient was transferred to the Sa Dec General Hospital on June 8 after being diagnosed with pneumonia, acute adrenal insufficiency, type two diabetes, hypertension, and ischemic heart disease.

Whilst at hospital, she felt tired and was supported with nasal cannula (NC), a device which is used to deliver supplemental oxygen or to increase airflow in order to help a patient in need of respiratory assistance.

She tested positive for the SARS-CoV-2 virus on June 26 and was subsequently transported to a special treatment area on June 27.

After receiving treatment for several days, the woman passed away on July 2 due to a range of complications relating to respiratory failure, type two diabetes, acute adrenal insufficiency, hypertension, and severe pneumonia caused by SARS-CoV-2.

As of 6 a.m  on June 24, Dong Thap province has recorded a total of 92 COVID-19 cases.
