The decision will be implemented as from mid-January, said Tran Chi Cuong, vice director of the Danang municipal Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism.
SuperStar Libra Cruise Ship of Star Cruises will be the first ship to follow the new rule.
Danang received more than 1.268 million foreign tourists in 2015, a year-on-year increase of 34%, including more than 5,000 foreign sea travellers.
It is expected to welcome more than 100,000 passengers on board of 110 cruise ships this year.
