Patients will receive free health check-ups at the hospital on November 13, followed by diagnoses by doctors. Necessary operations will be performed by doctors from January 16-22 next year. Treatment costs will be sponsored by the Vietnam Heart Foundation, Viettel Military Telecom Corporation and VinaCapital Foundation. To register for free checkups for congenital heart disease, people can contact Heart Operation Department, Hospital of Ho Chi Minh City Medicine and Pharmacy University at 215 Hong Bang, Ward 11, District 5 or phone number 08 3952 5161/ 08 3952 5160. An estimated 12,000 children are born with congenital heart diseases in Vietnam every year, with many of them unable to get treatment as their families cannot afford the high costs.
