The two flights, with one departing from Los Angeles and the other from San Francisco, transited at Incheon airport (the Republic of Korea) before landing at Van Don International Airport in Quang Ninh.

All passengers had been fully vaccinated and tested negative for the SARS-CoV-2 virus by the rRT-PCT method before departure. They were all eligible for entry and isolation under the Health Ministry’s vaccine passport pilot scheme.

Upon arrival, the passengers in personal protective equipment were required to make a health declaration and have their health examined by healthcare workers.

They were then transferred to Vinpearl Resort and Spa Ha Long hotels in Ha Long city for a 7-day isolation under the pilot scheme.

The two planes and relevant sections of the airport were disinfected after the passengers moved to their isolation facilities.

Earlier, the first plane carrying out the pilot scheme landed at Van Don Airport on September 4, bringing 297 vaccinated passengers from Japan to Vietnam.
