Foreign Ministry spokesperson Le Hai Binh said in reply to reporters’ questions about Vietnam’s response to Taiwan’s launch of a media tour of Ba Binh island in Vietnam’s Truong Sa (Spratly) archipelago on March 23.

"Vietnam has enough legal and historical evidence to assert Vietnam’s indisputable sovereignty over the Hoang Sa and Truong Sa archipelagos

Any activities of a foreign country in this area are considered illegal. Taiwan’s sending reporters to Ba Binh island seriously violates Vietnam’s sovereignty over these archipelagos and complicates the situation in the East Sea," Binh said.

Vietnam opposes and asks Taiwan to respect Vietnam’s sovereignty, not repeat such action and contribute to maintaining peace and stability in the East Sea, the official added.
