McCain said it was time to remove the weapons sanctions against Vietnam. Former US Congressman Eni Faleomavaega, also former Chairman of the US House of Representatives’ Foreign Affairs Subcommittee on Asia and the Pacific, issued a statement hailing President Obama’s visit.
He supported the removal of weapon sanctions on Vietnam. He also voiced his support to US congress’s approval of the Trans-Pacific Partnership (TPP) agreement, saying that the agreement will benefit both countries.
