Lao National Radio, Lao National Television, and a number of online newspapers have published a series of articles over the past few days featuring the great friendship, special solidarity, and comprehensive co-operation between Laos and Vietnam.
Lao National Television ran a show on August 8 covering news about mutual ties, highlighting the pure and faithful friendship, special relationship, and borderless solidarity that exists between the two nations.
This comes after the Lao News Agency's online newspaper published an article on August 7 highlighting the time-honoured relations between both sides. According to the article, joint ties have been steadily increasing, strengthening, and developing strongly across a multitude of fields.
The two sides continue to affirm that the great friendship, special solidarity, and comprehensive co-operation that exists are invaluable common assets of the two peoples, a factor that ensures future stability and the development of the two countries.
Laotian media have also written many articles regarding the sustained efforts of both nations to build a special comprehensive relationship, one that is becoming increasingly closer.
The traditional friendship and co-operation between the two countries has existed for a long time, first being nurtured by great President Ho Chi Minh, President Kaysone Phomvihane, and President Souphanouvong. Indeed, it was these three key figures who laid the foundation for co-operative ties during the period when both nations fought a common enemy, with this developing into a relationship of great friendship, special solidarity, and comprehensive co-operation.
Several newspapers also stressed that the Vietnamese Party, Government, and people have provided valuable, timely, and effective support both in annual aid, as well as in helping its neighbour when facing difficulties caused by natural disasters, along with coping with the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic.
Vietnam was the first country to offer help to Laos, demonstrating the special nature of the co-operation relationship, which has become an important factor behind the development between both sides, they emphasized.
